Ragdoll Kittens

The International Cat Association (TICA) is one of the largest cat registries in the world. Every year TICA invites high quality catteries to apply and qualify for their Outstanding Cattery certification by meeting strict requirements of safety, health, wellness, and cleanliness within our cattery. This process includes an in-person inspection of our cattery by a certified veterinarian, who then must submit a certified report to TICA. Riverside Rags has been inspected and certified by Dr. Hank Oliver of Animal Hospital of Pasco. Here is the current list of TICA Outstanding Catteries.

The Cat Fancier’s Association (CFA) is like TICA in that it is also a cat registry, but they focus on maintaining breed purity, “the welfare of all cats [and] the promotion and improvement of CFA recognized breeds of cats”. For the Ragdoll breed, CFA only allows pure traditional ragdolls to be registered (as opposed to the non-traditional mink variety). Like TICA’s certification, the CFA Cattery of Excellence award also requires an in-person inspection by a licensed veterinarian.  The award is only given to registered CFA catteries who receive a superior score on the inspection checklist. We provide TICA and/or CFA registration papers with every adoption

Every kitten comes with a three-year health guarantee. And because of our extensive testing, we are also able to offer an unprecedented, optional ten-year health guarantee.

Our in-home cattery is a great place to help new ragdoll kittens become well-socialized. The kittens quickly learn to play well with our three very young children. We love hearing children squeal with delight when they hear the purr of a baby kitten.

Riverside Rags queens and kings are tested for HCM, PKD, FeLV, and FIP. Additionally, we run a URD (Upper Respiratory Panel) test on every one of our breeding cats. This panel tests for seven different viruses including calicivirus and herpes which are known to be highly contagious and problematic.

From our location in the great Pacific Northwest, we provide services to hand deliver and safely ship ragdoll kittens anywhere in the US.  There are also several convenient air travel options where customers fly in, receive their ragdoll kitten at the airport and fly back home within the hour.

We are a small cattery. Our kittens and breeding cats live in our home with us and play with our young children. We do not have a separate outdoor facility or any other kind of environment where the cats and kittens are only seen when they are fed and watered.
