• When you make a non-refundable deposit for a specific kitten, we make a commitment to you to reserve that kitten for you.  She is no longer available for adoption by anyone else.  If for some reason your circumstances change and you later decide to not adopt that particular kitten, opportunities will have been lost for the kitten to be adopted by someone else during that time.
• When you make a non-refundable deposit for a future kitten, we make a commitment to give you first choice of the gender and color/pattern that you are looking for before he or she becomes available to others.  We honor requests in order of deposits received.

Your commitment to us:

• When you make a non-refundable deposit, you demonstrate that you are serious about working with us to adopt a ragdoll kitten.  It indicates that you are focused on the kitten’s best interests because it is also a commitment to the kitten.

We work hard for you

There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to prepare for the adoption of your new kitten.  We spend a lot of time in the process.

• We take photos and videos for you.
• We consult with you and answer your questions.
• We coordinate the pickup or delivery of your kitten.

In particular, air travel delivery requires many calls and actions:

• Calls to the veterinarian to schedule an appointment for a healthy pet travel certificate.
• Calls to the airline to find the best cost options and book the flight.  It is easy to find expensive flights, but it takes a lot of effort to find the least cost options.
• Calls to you to coordinate the travel date and pickup arrangements.
• Calls to our couriers to find someone available to hand carry the kitten.
• Take the kitten to the veterinarian appointment.
• Purchase a travel carrier (if the kitten will be safely traveling as cargo).
• Take the kitten to the airport, which is frequently a pre-dawn departure.

The non-refundable deposit gives us confidence that you are committed to the adoption and that the time we spend with you on this process will be worthwhile.

10-Year Health Guarantee

Optional 10 Year Guarantee

The cuddly little kitten you adopt will be conditionally guaranteed up to her tenth birthday to be free of any death-causing illness. There is no warranty for death due to injury, mistreatment or neglect.

Conditions:

• Your kitty must be responsibly cared for, kept indoors, spayed/neutered, be fully vaccinated and be seen regularly by a veterinarian throughout his life.
• Your ragdoll must be fed only Life’s Abundance cat food products purchased through the following weblink: https://www.lifesabundance.com/riversiderags

In the event of death before age ten, a report must be provided by a licensed veterinarian stating that the death was caused by a specific health condition. The veterinarian’s report must be sent to Riverside Rags to be reviewed by the our veterinarian. If our veterinarian concurs with your veterinarian’s diagnosis, Riverside Rags will offer a replacement kitten from the next litter with an available kitten of the same gender and equal value.

There are no cash refunds. The total value of this guarantee is the price of the kitten, not including shipping, medical or other costs.

Please note that this guarantee does not cover medical treatment for living kittens.  It also does not cover death due to injury or negligence (lack of proper food, water, environment, medical care, etc.).  It only covers the equal value replacement of a kitten that dies before age ten even though she received proper veterinary care throughout her life and was fed Life’s Abundance cat food products.  Due to the high nutrition quality of the Life’s Abundance cat food products, we offer this optional guarantee that your pet will live at least ten years if you take proper care of it.

The health of your sweet kitten throughout his/her life is directly related to the every-day care you provide.  Proper food, clean water, a clean environment and regular veterinary care are essential for a long and healthy life.  We work very hard to keep each ragdoll free from infections and illness until they are adopted.  When you adopt a new kitten, you become responsibile to continue caring for your indoor pet.

This guarantee is on par with industry practice and even exceeds what many breeders offer.  The testing we perform, the cleanliness of our cattery, the top quality nutrition, and the outstanding veterinary services our kittens receive result in the healthy, beautiful ragdoll kittens available to you for adoption.

Beware of scammers!

Unfortunately, we hear about the sad experiences of people who have been scammed while trying to adopt a new ragdoll kitten.  Many times people are grieving the loss of a long-time pet and are subjected to further hurt by malicious and dishonest scammers.

Check out this story from a family who later adopted a kitten from us.  They have shared it, hoping that it might help someone else avoid getting ripped off.

“The gist of it was, they were offering Ragdolls for $650+$70 for shipping. They even offered to drive the kitten directly to my house for no extra charge. But then I got an email from the “shipping company” with a lot of misspelled words, and they said there was a complication, and I needed to “rent” a controlled air carrier for the kitten’s safety due to weather conditions. But the rent cost was thousands of dollars, and they said they would refund 99% of the rent cost when I received the kitten. Thankfully I got suspicious before sending them the extra thousands. I asked the seller to send a picture of the kitten with a sign with my name on it. Seller said they had already given the kitten to the shipping company. I called the “customer service” and gave them my tracking number, and the guy was saying the pet is safe, just send the extra money. I asked for a picture and he said it was a very big company, I couldn’t expect him to do anything specific about my one order. I asked for the contact number of the person at the company watching the kitten, and he just kept trying to tell me it was a really big company.
